RBI online released its official notification to recruit 572 Office Attendants on the official website rbi.org.in. Under this Reserve Bank of India Recruitment 2026 Candidates will be selected based on performance in an online competitive examination, after which a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) will be conducted.

Education Criteria

  • Candidates must have passed the 10th Standard (S.S.C./Matriculation) from a recognized Board in the State/UT under the Regional Jurisdiction of the Recruiting Office to which they are applying (refer to Annex IV for regional jurisdictions).
  • Candidates must be undergraduates as on January 1, 2026. Graduates or those with higher qualifications are not eligible.
  • For Ex-Servicemen: Must have passed 10th Standard and rendered at least 15 years of defense service, provided they have not graduated outside the Armed Forces.
  • Candidates must be proficient in the language of the State/UT (i.e., able to read, write, speak, and understand the Official/Local Language as per Annex V).

Age Limits

  • Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years as on January 1, 2026.
  • Born not earlier than January 2, 2001, and not later than January 1, 2008 (both days inclusive).

Salary Details

  • Starting basic pay: ₹24,250/- per month.
  • Pay scale: ₹24,250 – 840 (4) – 27,610 – 980 (3) – 30,550 – 1,200 (3) – 34,150 – 1,620 (2) – 37,390 – 1,990 (4) – 45,350 – 2,700 (2) – 50,750 – 2,800 (1) – 53,550.
  • Initial monthly gross emoluments (without HRA): Approximately ₹46,029/-.
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA): 15% of pay if not staying in Bank’s accommodation.
  • Other allowances and perquisites: Bank’s accommodation (subject to availability), medical facilities, reimbursement of education expenses, cost of spectacles/lens, knowledge updation allowance, furnishing of residence, Group Term Life Insurance (GTLI), vehicle insurance, conveyance allowance, Leave Fare Concession, etc., as per eligibility.
  • Pension scheme: Governed by the Defined Contribution New Pension Scheme, in addition to Gratuity.

Selection Process

  • Online Test (Multiple Choice Questions): 120 questions for 120 marks, duration 90 minutes. Negative marking of 1/4th for each wrong answer. Candidates must qualify in each section separately.
    • Reasoning: 30 questions / 30 marks
    • General English: 30 questions / 30 marks
    • General Awareness: 30 questions / 30 marks
    • Numerical Ability: 30 questions / 30 marks
  • The test (except General English) is available in English, Hindi, and certain regional languages (as per Annex VI).
  • Provisionally shortlisted candidates (based on merit in online test, relative to vacancies) will be called for Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Qualifying in nature, conducted in the Official/Local Language(s) of the State (as per Annex V). Non-proficient candidates will be disqualified.
  • Final selection: Based on performance in the online test (in order of merit), qualifying in LPT, medical fitness, verification of certificates (including biometric verification via thumb impression/IRIS scan at various stages), and Bank’s satisfaction.
  • Biometric data will be captured and verified multiple times; mismatch leads to cancellation of candidature.
  • Appointment is subject to being declared medically fit.
