A total of 3,298 vacancies have been announced across two main departments:
- District Police Cadre: 2,522 vacancies (825 reserved for women).

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)
To be eligible for these roles, you must meet the following criteria as of January 1, 2026:
- Age: You must be between 18 and 28 years old. (Age relaxations apply for SC/BC and Ex-servicemen of Punjab) .
- Education: You must have passed 10+2 (Class 12th) or its equivalent. For Ex-servicemen, the minimum requirement is Matriculation (Class 10th).
- Language: You must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject.
- Height:

Selection Process
The selection happens in three stages:
- Stage I (Written Exam): A computer-based test with two papers. Paper-I covers General Awareness, Math, Reasoning, English, Punjabi, and Digital Literacy. Paper-II is a qualifying test in the Punjabi language.
- Stage II (Physical Test): Includes running, long jump, and high jump. This stage is qualifying, meaning you just need to pass it to move forward.
