Mandatory Educational Qualifications
To apply, candidates must meet the specific professional requirements for their chosen trade:
- Driver: 10th Pass + Valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driving License.
- Veterinary: 10th Pass with Science + 1 year of experience in animal treatment.
- Tradesmen (Barber, Cook, etc.): 10th Pass + Two years of work experience OR a 1-year ITI certificate with 1 year of experience.
- Nursing Orderly: 10th Pass + First Aid Certificate + 1 year of experience in a 50-bedded hospital.
Selection Process: The Five Stages of Success
The SSB follows a rigorous selection cycle to ensure only the most capable individuals are inducted.
- Stage 1: PET & PST: Physical Efficiency (Running) and Physical Standard (Height/Chest) tests.
- Male Running: 4.8 km in 24 minutes.
- Female Running: 2.4 km in 18 minutes.
- Stage 2: Written Examination: A 100-mark objective test covering General Knowledge, Math, Reasoning, and Language.
- Stage 3: Documentation: Verification of original certificates.
- Stage 4: Trade Test: A practical 50-mark test specific to your trade (Qualifying marks: 60%).
- Stage 5: Medical Examination: Final health check-up and Review Medical (if needed).
Financial Perks & Salary
Joining the SSB offers not just a career but financial stability. Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-3 (₹21,700 – ₹69,100).
Added Benefits: In addition to the basic pay, personnel receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Ration Money, and a Risk/Hardship allowance depending on the posting location.
