About Us

The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income tax, Karnataka & Goa Region, exercises jurisdiction over the State of Karnataka and Goa. There are five Chief Commissioners of Income Tax and one Director General of Income Tax (Inv.) for the entire region of Karnataka and Goa. The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax is based at Bangalore. Besides the Pr.CCIT, four Chief Commissioners of Income Tax and a Director General of Income Tax (Inv.) are based in the metropolitan city of Bangalore . The other Chief Commissioner of Income Tax is stationed at Panaji.

As the 3rd highest revenue-generating region in India, the Karnataka & Goa Income Tax Department prioritizes taxpayer convenience and administrative clarity. From the central leadership in Bangalore to the specialized Investigation Directorate, our hierarchy is built to serve. We believe in a transparent relationship with our citizens; hence, all notifications, tender details, and office directories are available for public review. Our “Vision” is realized through the Aayakar Seva Kendra (ASK)—a simplified, single-window facility designed to make filing returns and resolving grievances as seamless as possible for our voluntary taxpayers.
