Qualification

Stenographer (Lower Grade) Qualification

  • Must hold a university degree. Candidates with at least 3 years of stenography experience may get relaxation.
  • English shorthand speed of 80 words per minute and typing speed of 40 words per minute is required.
  • A valid computer proficiency certificate as per Maharashtra Government rules is mandatory.
  • Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Marathi.
  • Maharashtra state domicile is compulsory.

Stenographer (Higher Grade) Qualification

  • A university degree is required. Candidates with 5 years’ experience as a Lower Grade Stenographer in a Court/Tribunal/AG/GP office may be given relaxation.
  • English shorthand speed of 100 words per minute with typing speed of 40 words per minute is required.
  • Computer proficiency certificate as prescribed by the Maharashtra Government is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Marathi (reading, writing, speaking) is essential.
  • Only Maharashtra domicile candidates are eligible.

Age Limit

  • General (Open): 21 to 38 years
  • SC/ST/OBC/Special Backward Class (Maharashtra domicile): 21 to 43 years
  • High Court/Government Employees (applying through proper channel): Minimum 21 years, no upper age limit
