JKSSB Constable Recruitment 2026 [1815 Posts] Notification OUT

Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board released an official notification to recruit 1815 Constable (Executive Police) Divisional Cadre in Home Department. Online application forms for JKSSB Constable Recruitment 2026 will be filled from 19 January 2026 to 17 February 2026 on the official JKSSB website.

Candidates who are class 10th or matriculation pass and interested in police job can apply online. For selection, applicants must mandatorily pass the written test along with the Physical Standard Test and the Physical Endurance Test.

JKSSB Constable Recruitment 2026

Through the Advertisement Notification No. 12 of 2025 JKSSB is going to hire 1815 Police Constable in the Home Department. This recruitment drive is open for both male and female candidates.

• Jammu Division: 934 vacancies
• Kashmir Division: 881 vacancies

Educational Criteria:

The minimum educational qualification required is Matriculation (10th pass). Candidates must possess and produce their Matriculation mark sheet or certificate as proof of eligibility.

Physical Eligibility Criteria

Salary/Pay Scale:

The selected candidates will be placed under Pay Level-2, with a salary ranging from ₹19,900 to ₹63,200. In addition to the basic pay, they will be entitled to allowances and other benefits as per the J&K Government norms.

• Pay ₹700 if you fall under General/OBC/Others.
• Pay ₹600 if you belong to SC/ST-1/ST-2/EWS.

Selection Process:

Step 1: Written Examination
Candidates appear for an objective-type written test with multiple-choice questions.
¼ mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
NCC certificate holders get bonus marks (5% for C, 3% for B, 2% for A).

Step 2: Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates’ height and chest measurements are checked.
Minimum height: Male – 5’6”, Female – 5’2”.
Male chest: 32” (unexpanded) and 33.5” (expanded).
Height relaxation of 2” is given to Gorkha Community and Bot Tribe.

Step 3: Physical Endurance Test (PET)
Male candidates run 1600 meters in 6½ minutes and perform 20 push-ups.
Female candidates run 1000 meters in 6½ minutes and do shot put (4 kg) of 14½ feet.
Relaxed standards apply for ex-servicemen as per age.

Step 4: Medical Examination
Finally selected candidates undergo a medical test to confirm physical and medical fitness.
